PREPRIMARY FIELD TRIP 2017
Preprimary learners enjoyed a field trip to Gram Sanskruti Udyan Village Park located at Someshwarwadi, Pashan .
It was a day of stepping out and exploring.
The day's itinerary included:
- Travel to Pashan.
- Enter the Park with complete discipline.
- See all the statues and structures.
- Know the story as well as the history.
- A snack break.
- Travel back to School..

Class Picnic with Fruits & Lemonade
Pre-primary learners of PICT Model School took joy in being a part of the class picnic. This day outdoors was composed of a lot of fun activities. Some of them being,
1. cutting fruits
2. making lemonade
The above activities were performed under supervision with utmost care and proper guidance. Highlights of the same are as seen the the images.
PREPRIMARY LEARNERS DEVELOP THEIR GROSS MOTOR SKILLS IN A FUN WAY.
Gross motor skills are important to enable children to perform every day functions, such as walking and running, playground skills and sporting skills. Learning at a desk is never easy for students. They need to move!
It just so happens there’s ways for students to learn while moving too. Broad categories of possible activity areas include physical fitness, dance and music, individual and group activities, and cooperative games.
Yummy Tummy during Happy Hour
Preprimary Children at PICT Model School had an appetizing fire less cooking session during the Happy Hour Event. They took delight preparing yummy Bhel which had their tummies ravenous by the end. They had stomach-filling portions followed by the same.
Janmashtami Celebrations
Janmashtami festival was celebrated with great zeal and pomp by the children of PICT Model School. Children came dressed in as Krishna and Radha and other colorful outfits. They decorated handi which was later broken with all the customs and rituals followed on this day. A special assembly was conducted to mark the birth of the deity. Children celebrated the occasion by singing and dancing with great joy.
Subject Enrichment - Grade 1
As a part of Subject Enrichment Activity, grade 1 learners made their own musical instrument and were able to differentiate between pleasant and unpleasant sounds.
Football fever gripped PICT Model School
Learners from grade 1 to 3 participated in Intra school matches. The tournament inculcated team spirit, spirit of sportsmanship and forged bonding amongst all learners.

CULTIVATING GREEN FINGERS FROM A TENDER AGE
At PICT Model School, we believe that education is not complete if it is just the theory that is taught and hence co-curriculum and extra-curriculum is a big part of growth and development wherein the learners are exposed to life skills and value based learning. That is why we organised an activity at the campus yesterday where the learners 'learnt as they did'. The Pre-primary learners sowed seeds together inculcating sensitivity towards nature from their formative years.
SOWING SEEDS - GRADE 1
Educators at PICT Model School organised an activity to demonstrate eco-friendliness among the learners wherein the sowed seeds in a cocopeat. This activity helped learners to gain detailed information about the importance of trees, how to plant as well as nurture them.
WALK IN THE SCHOOL PARK

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY
Children did Suryanamaskar on the occasion of International Yoga day on 21st June 2017.
PRETEND PLAY
Chidren learnt balancing and concentrating skills under expert supervision through petend play.
A DAY OF LEARNING NEW SKILLS
Father’s day is more than just a reminder that you love your Dad. It’s a time to recall the best memories you have with him. The learners of PICT model school celebrated Father’s day on June 16, 2017 at the school campus. The learners recited a song on ‘Happy Father’s Day’. They watched a video on unconditional love of fathers. Learners shared their best experience with their fathers and prepared a card wishing their father a very Happy Father’s Day.

Lohri
Children were introduced to a very rarely celebrated festival in the west of our country. Lohri was something very new to them. They found it very amazing as they were told more and more about its rituals and cause. We at our campus had a lot of fun as we celebrated Lohri with all the students and staff.
FOR THE ENVIRONMENT
At PICT Model School, we performed a small activity which took children closer to the environment knowing its importance as well as the depletion it is facing.
Halloween
We celebrated Halloween at school on Friday, 21st October 2016. Learners came dressed in costumes of their choice. They used props which help them speak about their dress up. Learners spoke about their dress up. They also played Trick-Treat with their Educators.
Halloween was an amazing experience to learners as well as educators at PICT MODEL SCHOOL. Everyone had a lot of fun!
Daughter's Day
We believe that parents and educators' shoulder hold a huge responsibility of moulding child's future. Values and morals along with life skills shape the generations to come. “Beti bachao Beti padhao” campaign aims to reduce the dropout rates of young girls from schools.
On 23rd September, The Times of India reported that 49 % of school - going girls do not attend school. At our Happy Hour event on Friday, 30th September, learners watched a short film to mark Daughters’ Day and participate in age appropriate activities to understand their roles and responsibilities as future citizens of India. Let us all do our bit to empower girls this Daughters’ Day!!!
Diwali Celebration
At PICT Model School, Students were dressed in their best ethnic wears as they painted diyas, made forts & lanterns.

A fun 'n' fair organized by PICT Model School for the students and their parents to help them spend quality time together.
Strokes & Shapes
Co-curriculum is a big part of PICT Model School as we believe in learning by doing. This activity called Strokes and Shapes was organized for children to help them draw and colour giving a boost to their creative minds.
Independence Day
Students at PICT Model School were dressed for the occasion of Independence Day, and were present in school early morning for the unfurling of the national flag. This was followed by the salute, national anthem and then the patriotic songs.
Janmashtami
Festivals are an important part of the Indian culture, and at PICT, we make sure that the children are aware of the importance of every festival while they have fun celebrating it. On the occasion of Janmashtami, children were all dressed in their best ethnic wears and practised the tradition of breaking the pot on this day.
Field Trip
At PICT Model School, children are taken on field trips where they enjoy as well as gain a lot of knowledge. This field trip was taken to the Katraj Zoo where the children saw animals and gained information about each one of them.
Role Play
Another fun way of gaining knowledge is role play. On this day children chose their own characters and dressed themselves likewise and spoke about their chosen character. This help them know their character as well as have fun using acting and vocal skills.
Fancy Dress Competition
Children love to dream and fancy dress competitions are a good way to make their dream come true for some time. They can just be anything that they have ever wished to become. So here's their opportunity.

SAND-CLAY DAY
One of the days where the nursery kids had a great day where the education took a complete different form. The teachers were explaining the children about the basic substances like sand and clay, its properties and had managed to keep the kids attention glued till the end of that session. At the end of the day the kids had learned something out of the textbook and surely this experience will play a great role and a new tool for improvising on the traditional techniques of teaching.
CLASSROOM CRAFT
At PICT we believe that a classroom should just not be limited to textbooks and lectures, we take a step forward and inculcate team building activities. The classroom craft is a mixture of drawing, art making, team games and crafting activities. This methodology enables the kids to learn and grow, at the same time escape the monotonous traditional method of learning, helping them to understand things better and gain confidence. Classroom craft can be seen as a great platform to express themselves and communicate in a different way altogether.
PARENTS ORIENTATION PROGRAMME
The parents orientation programme was divided into the respective batches held on different dates, the orientation encompassed of various activities starting with Introduction to CELA (Cambridge English Language Assessment) followed by
Shake it with Shiamak (Shiamak Davar Dance Academy) equally matched up with
Magic O’ Music (Furtados School of Music) and lastly
Shape Up (Shape India Sports and Fitness Academy) the objective of these activities was to break the new formal environment and give a more friendly feeling to the children allowing them to know their peers better at the same time making sure that the objective of such activities was not sidelines.
