The entire academic year is divided into two terms – Term 1 (April to September) and Term 2 (October to March). Students are assessed throughout a term using various subject specific tools and techniques such as quiz, lab activity, role play, extempore speech, debate, poster making, cyclic written assessments called Formative Assessments which gives a vivid understanding of the day to day learning of a child to the parents and a feedback on the effectiveness of the teaching methodologies to the educators. Grades 3 to 7 also has the end of a term written assessment which carries maximum weightage.

The learners are encouraged to explore and investigate; consolidate and connect, what they learn; ponder over and question it, and then demonstrate their learning in multiple ways. This way the learners equip themselves to communicate and collaborate, sharpen their problem solving skills and critical thinking, enhance their technological and networking skills.
PICT Model School believes in ‘assessment for learning’ and so, assessments are designed to promote formative learning through differentiation. Assessments in the Pre Primary and Primary Section are conducted internally to support students in structuring their thinking or work independently so that they can develop their ideas and understanding. Progress Reports are generated every two months and shared with parents.
In the Middle School Section, assessments are conducted as per the guidelines of CBSE. Report Card is generated at the end of the academic year showing details of the child’s year long performance. However, monthly PTMs will be conducted to discuss the progress of the learners.
